Richard Ford bags a forty in difficult conditions

Richard Ford lured this 41.4lb Mirror into his net despite a difficult weeks' fishing. The fish were right in the middle of their spawning season and not much was biting. In addition to this fantastic fish, him and the other lads in week 11 did catch a good few 30s and upper 20s and very much enjoyed the hot weather and cool lager!

David Jacobs bags not one but two 40s

We're not entirely sure how he did it but David Jacobs bagged two 40s amongst a host of fantastic fish from the Double Island swim. He had 8 carp weighing 43lbs, 42lbs, 35lbs, 33.8lbs, 32lbs, 24lbs, 22lbs and 19.8lbs and then a big cat 35lbs and everyone agrees that forms one hell of a catch report!

Shurdy bags 2 PBs in the space of 30 minutes

He was just telling us his pb catfish was 26lbs and one of his rods screamed off on the Big Double swim. This fish took practically half the line off his spool! After 20 minutes it was on the bank weighing 33lbs and a new pb!

Shurdy wasn't finished though, his left-hand rod then subtley let off a few blips, he hit it and 5 minutes later he had his pb Mirror on the bank weighing 27lbs.

Nice one Shurdy!

In super hot conditions Chizzy get his PB Catfish at 36lbs caught from the Roadside swim. His previous best was under 25lbs. It put up a collossal scrap and gave Chiz a well earned cause for celebration!

It's been hot here this week not without rain. A thunderstorm hit early yesterday evening and had us all running for cover!

Year best Grass Carp at 32lb

Check out this fantastic 32lb Grass Carp caught on the Double Island swim by Chris Lusby in Week 7 2008. Biggest Grassy of the year caught on a single popup off the corner of the island. It fought for 20 minutes and, as usual with Grassies, went a bit mental on the bank! Nice one Chris!

Week 6 2008 - Swifty and Co bag 56 fish

Swifty, Andy, Paul, Jem and John bag 40 carp and 16 Catfish between them including a good head of 30s. Paul Webb had a monster Cat out at 52lbs and probably the prettiest fish was Swifty's 32.6 Mirror caught from the Roadside swim shown here. Numerous pbs were broken, this late springtime weather has been great for fishing and the lake baits seem to be doing the business at the end of the rigs.

Week 4, 2008: Carry on (Brookside) Crew back again and still catching!

It's the Carry on Brookside bunch back for some more action. Hoping to top their massive 100 fish haul from last summer they still caught well despite the fluctuating weather conditions. They caught 58 between them and by far the highlight was Tony Davies' PB 42.14lb Mirror as shown here. Great fish Tony!

That makes it 2 40+ carp in two weeks. The tail end of the week showed better weather and the fish got on the feed showing great signs for anglers fishing in the next 3/4 weeks.

I mustn't forget Lee Burr's belting PB Catfish at a massive 50.11lbs!

Well done dudes!
